Thin section bearings

Thin section bearings

Thin section bearings are included in the FV portfolio. Their design saves weight, creates space, increases design flexibility, and provides excellent running accuracy. The bearings meet the most demanding specifications and are often used in high-tech applications such as aerospace, medical systems, robotics, astronomy instrumentation, and machine tools.

  • thin section bearing

  • Thin-section bearings are bearings with extremely thin bearing sections characterized by extremely thin bearing sections.

  • The advantage of thin-walled bearings is that they realize the miniaturization and light weight of the product and, at the same time, have the characteristics of high rigidity, low friction torque, and high running accuracy. In addition, thin-section bearings can achieve product diversity, expand their range of uses, and are widely used in various industrial fields.

  • thin section bearing

  • The structure of thin-walled bearings

  • The structure of thin-walled bearings generally includes inner rings, outer rings, rolling elements, and cages. The inner ring is usually tightly fitted with the shaft and rotates together; the outer ring is usually transitionally fitted with the bearing seat, mainly for supporting purposes. The rolling elements are evenly arranged between the inner and outer rings using the cage, and their shape, size, and quantity directly affect the load-carrying capacity and performance of the bearing. In addition to evenly separating the rolling elements, the cage also has the function of guiding the rotation of the rolling elements and effectively changing the internal lubrication result of the bearing.

  • In addition, thin-walled bearings also include auxiliary structures such as dust covers (seals) and grease to protect the bearings from the intrusion of foreign objects and increase the lubrication performance of the bearings.

  • Classification of thin-section bearings

  • Thin-section bearings can be divided into the following types according to their structure and type:

  • Thin-walled crossed roller bearings: including CRA series thin-walled crossed roller bearings, CRB series thin-walled crossed roller bearings, CRE series thin-walled crossed roller bearings, etc.

  • Thin-walled ring bearings: high precision, very quiet, and strong load-carrying capacity, most of which are square in cross-section, suitable for places where high precision of inner ring rotation is required.

  • Thin-wall deep groove ball bearings: including thin-wall sealed metric deep groove ball bearings, thin-wall metric deep groove ball bearings, thin-wall sealed deep groove ball bearings, and equal-section thin-wall deep groove ball bearings, etc.

  • Thin-wall four-point contact ball bearings: including equal-section thin-wall four-point contact ball bearings, thin-wall sealed four-point contact ball bearings, thin-wall metric four-point contact ball bearings, thin-wall sealed metric four-point contact ball bearings, etc.

  • In addition, thin-walled bearings also have thin-walled angular contact ball bearings, thin-walled tapered roller bearings, and other types.

  • Material of thin-walled bearings

  • The inner and outer rings of thin-walled bearings are generally made of bearing steel (GCr15) or stainless steel (AISI440C), and some are made of carbon steel (52100), chrome steel (440C), molybdenum-chromium steel (M50) and other materials. According to different application scenarios and requirements, suitable materials can be selected.

  • In addition, the rolling elements of thin-walled bearings are usually made of high-carbon steel or bearing steel, and the cage is made of materials such as brass or synthetic resin.

  • Application fields of thin-section bearings

  • Thin-section bearings are used in a wide range of fields; the more compact envelope dimensions and lighter weight of modern thin-section bearings better meet the demands of the robotic age. In general, the application fields of thin-section bearings cover various industries and are a very common and important mechanical component.
