Spherical roller bearings

Triple ring bearing has three bearing rings: an inner ring, an outer ring, and an intermediate ring. It has two rows of rollers. The two rows of rollers do not interfere with each other. It can be seen as a combination of two bearings. Its unique structure makes it easy to use and has no creep. This kind of bearing has higher precision and longer service life.

• Structural type of triple ring bearing

• Triple-ring bearings can be divided into three structures (internal/external bearings) according to the different rollers used in the design:

• Cylindrical roller/spherical roller triple ring bearing, as shown in Figure 1

• Spherical roller/cylindrical roller triple ring bearing, as shown in Figure 2

• Spherical roller/self-aligning roller triple ring bearing, as shown in Figure 3

Advantages of triple ring bearings

• Triple-ring bearings are ideal for high-performance rolls on the drive side of conventional anti-deflection rolls. The rotating center ring is guided internally and externally by suitably designed spherical or cylindrical rollers. The selection and combination of these bearings are based on requirements. The design of the brass cages enables them to securely support the rolling elements and ensure optimal lubrication.

• Combined tapered roller bearings are usually used on the outside of the control crown roller (CCR), and spherical roller bearings are used inside the control crown roller. High-precision and high-load capacity triple-ring bearings can prevent creep, facilitate installation, and extend service life.

• Triple-ring bearings are used almost exclusively in paper machines to support variable crown pressure rollers on the drive side.

Operation of triple-ring bearings

The middle bearing ring is connected to the drive shaft through the housing of the variable crown roller, and the surface of the middle ring of all three structural types has threaded holes. These bearings' inner and outer rings do not rotate, so they are mounted loosely on the shaft and housing.

Tolerances and clearances of triple ring bearings

The tolerances of the outer and inner diameters of triple-ring bearings comply with the standard tolerances specified by ISO 492, and the operating accuracy is generally higher than normal.

Bearing internal clearance corresponds to the normal clearance of each bearing in the triple-ring combination.
