Thrust bearings are divided into thrust ball bearing and thrust roller bearing. When assembling the thrust ball bearing, it is important to measure the nominal height T to ensure that it meets the required standards. To do this, you can use a height block or a standard difficulty piece and measure the load. The bearing must rotate ten times and reach the minimum height. According to the standard, the deviation of the nominal height T of the FV bearing is in the minus direction, which means that the deviation of the size regulation is also in the minus direction. If the parts entering the assembly meet the requirements, the height T will not be out of whack after the sleeve is closed. However, using steel balls that are too large or too small will affect the pressing quality of the steel ball and the cage, as well as change the contact state of the steel ball and the raceway, which can ultimately impact the bearing's service life. If necessary, you can adjust the diameter of the steel ball for selection. By grinding the parts in strict accordance with the size deviation and carrying out the assembly work, you can achieve the purpose of any matching without requiring the height and size deviation between the bottom of the trench and the base surface before the closing set.
When it comes to the combination of thrust bearing and shaft, it's important to note that they are generally designed to be a transition match. On the other hand, the combination of the seat ring and bearing seat hole is generally a clearance match. It's crucial to install them correctly because if the installation is reversed, it can cause serious wear and tear on the mating surfaces. It's not always easy to differentiate between the shaft ring and the seat ring, so extra care should be taken during assembly to avoid any mistakes. Additionally, it's important to fix the center shaft ring of the bi-directional thrust bearing onto the shaft to prevent rotation relative to the shaft. Finally, keep in mind that the installation method of thrust bearings generally involves shaft rotation, making the coordination of the inner ring and the shaft an over-win coordination, and the coordination of the bearing outer ring and the bearing chamber a clearance coordination.
When installing thrust bearings, it's important to ensure that the perpendicularity of the shaft ring and shaft center line is in check. This can be done by fixing the dial gauge on the end face of the case, so that the contact head of the table rotates the bearing on the raceway above the bearing shaft ring, and observing the dial gauge pointer. If the pointer is tilted, it indicates that the shaft ring and the shaft center line are not vertical. It's also important to note that the seat ring of the thrust bearing should have a gap of 0.2-0.5mm with the bearing seat hole to compensate for any error caused by inaccurate parts processing and installation. This gap can ensure automatic adjustment to avoid contact friction and make the bearing operate normally. Failure to do so will cause severe damage to the bearing. Remember to be extra careful in assembling the parts to avoid any mistakes since the difference between the shaft ring and the seat ring is not very obvious.
