Features and applications of dynamic oil film bearing and static oil film bearing

The static oil film bearing rely on external pressure to form pure liquid friction. Because it requires a more complex fuel supply system, it has less applications. Its working principle is that the carrier medium of a certain pressure provided by the neck and bearing is completely separated by a certain pressure provided by the outside world, thereby reducing the relative friction between the neck and the bearing. Including zero-speed, there is a lot of carrying capacity. Depending on the medium, the static pressure bearing can be divided into liquid static pressure bearing and gas static pressure bearing.

Dynamic oil membrane bearing is based on fluid dynamic pressure. The rotating shaft continues to keep the wedge-shaped gap with a certain viscous lubricant. Because the lubricating oil is oppressed during the wedge-shaped gap that is sucked by the axis roll, the resistance is generated. When the pressure is enough to balance the external load, a complete pressure oil film is formed between the shaft and the bearing, which makes the surface of the shaft from getting out of contact with the surface of the bearing and forming a pure liquid friction.

According to different characteristics, its applications can be divided into the following categories:

(1) The cold-rolled line is recommended to use static & dynamic oil film bearing 

(2) The regular hot -rolled line is recommended to use dynamic oil film bearing 

(3) Casting Continuous Mill: The first few low-speed heavy load stand use static & dynamic oil film bearings, and the other stands uses dynamic oil membrane bearing.

(4) Mid-thick plate stand or dual-machine reversible rolling machines are recommended to use static-dynamic oil film bearing.
