Application Characteristics of High-speed Wire Rod Rolling Mill Bearings

1. High reliability:  

A notable feature of the high-speed wire rod production line is the high reliability of the continuous operation of the rolling mill. Due to the high output of the high-speed wire rod production line, it is required that the rolling mill bearings, which are the key components of the rolling mill, have higher reliability than the ordinary rolling mill bearings within the specified maintenance period. If a bearing failure will cause the entire production line to stop production, this cannot be tolerated. Therefore, when designing and manufacturing high-speed wire rolling mill bearings, the reliability of continuous operation under high-speed operating conditions should be ensured. 

2. Abrasion resistance:  

High-speed wire rolling mill bearings must have strong wear resistance and can adapt to high-speed rotating work occasions. Example: For a high-speed wire rod production line, the export line speed is 63m/s, and the working diameter of the export rolling mill roll is 330mm, then the bearing's working speed is 3650r/min. Long-term operation under high speed and heavy load will reduce the wear resistance of the bearing. It is a severe test. This requires that the rolling mill bearings must have wear resistance requirements. 

3. Long fatigue life:  

The bearing fatigue life of high-speed wire rolling mill should be long. Under normal circumstances, the high-speed wire rolling mill bearings provided abroad are used for three years, because half of the time the roll components need to be unloaded for maintenance and repair. 

4. Impact toughness should be better:  

The impact toughness of high-speed wire rolling mill bearings is better, especially the bearings used in rough rolling mills. The impact load is very large when the continuous casting billet is rolled into a bar. Therefore, the bearing of high-speed wire rolling mill should not be broken when working under high speed and high impact.
