Introduction to deep groove ball bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used rolling bearings due to their ability to handle joint and radial loads with low friction and high speed. They are typically used in small-power motors, general machinery, automotive and tractor gearboxes, and machine tool gearboxes. While primarily used for radial loads, increasing the radial clearance allows them to support combined radial and axial loads similar to angular contact ball bearings. If thrust ball bearings are not appropriate, they can also handle pure axial loads at high speeds. Compared to other bearings of the same size and specification, deep groove ball bearings have a lower friction coefficient and a higher limit speed. However, deep groove ball bearing are not suitable for heavy loads or impacts. Once installed on the shaft, these bearings can limit axial displacement in two directions, allowing axial positioning.

Structure of deep groove ball bearing

The common deep groove ball bearing structure consists of outer ring, inner ring, a set of steel balls, and cage. Its structure is simple and easy to installation, so it is the most commonly produced and widely used type of bearing.

Classification of deep groove ball bearings

Deep groove ball bearings can be classified into two types based on the number of rows of rolling elements: single row and double row. Additionally, deep groove ball bearings can be opened or sealed based on their sealing structure. The sealed type can be further divided into dust and oil-proof seals. The dust-proof sealing cover is made of stamped steel plate and prevents dust from entering the bearing raceway, while the oil-proof type is a contact oil seal that effectively prevents grease from overflowing. There are various models of deep groove ball bearings available, including deep groove ball bearing (type 60000), deep groove ball bearing with stop grooves in the outer ring (for type 60000N), deep groove ball bearing with a dust cover on one side, and stop groove in the outer ring on the other side (type 60000-ZN), and deep groove ball bearings (type 60000-2ZN) with dust covers on both sides and stop grooves on the outer ring. Other types include deep groove ball bearings (type 60000Z) with dust covers on one side, deep groove ball bearing with dust covers on both sides (type 60000-2Z), deep groove ball bearing with sealing ring on one side (type 60000-LS, type 60000-RZ), deep groove ball bearings with sealing ring on both sides (for type 60000-2LS type, 60000-2RZ type), flange outer ring deep groove ball bearing (F60000 type), flange outer ring deep groove ball bearing with the dust cover on one side (F60000-Z type), and flanged outer ring deep groove ball bearings with dust covers on both sides (F60000-2Z type).

The type code for single-row deep groove ball bearing is 6, and the code name for double-row deep groove ball bearing is 4.

The material of deep groove ball bearing

The deep groove ball bearing material is bearing steel. Deep groove ball-bearing cages generally use steel stamping cages or brass solid cages. When the outer ring diameter is less than 400 mm, the steel stamping cage is used without a postcode, and when the outer diameter is greater than 400 mm, a brass solid cage is used without a postcode.
