Cylindrical roller bearings

FV split cylindrical roller bearings have one or two rows of cylindrical rollers and cylindrical inner and outer ring raceways. They are designed to accommodate radial loads and are available with (locating bearing position) or without (non-locating bearing position) outer ring flange to accommodate different configurations. Its split design offers unique advantages in inaccessible applications where installation, removal, and maintenance of bearings can be challenging. They are usually mounted in sleeves and can be adapted to different bases. Split cylindrical roller bearings can be used in various industries thanks to a wide range of products ranging from the lightweight, compact 100 series for high speeds to the 03/03E series designed for extreme load conditions.

• Characteristics of split cylindrical roller bearings

• All split cylindrical roller bearing components can be separated from the shaft, making installation easy and fast.

• Split cylindrical roller bearings accommodate fewer rollers than integral cylindrical roller bearings, so their load capacity is not as large as that of integral cylindrical roller bearings.

• Split cylindrical roller bearings will vibrate during operation due to their split structure, which limits their speed; the speed of split cylindrical roller bearings is half that of integral cylindrical roller bearings. • Split cylindrical roller bearings have a "logarithmic" curved contact surface between the rollers and raceways, which effectively improves the internal stress distribution of the bearing and allows a small angular alignment error of 2″.

Classification of split cylindrical roller bearings

• Split cylindrical roller bearings generally form a split bearing unit with the bearing seat, bracket seat, and some connecting parts. The bearing, bearing seat, and bracket seat are all 180° split along the axial direction, making them easy to install and disassemble.

• According to the number of rows of cylindrical rollers, they can be divided into split single-row cylindrical roller bearings and split double-row cylindrical roller bearings.

• Split single-row cylindrical roller bearing: Its main feature is a row of cylindrical rollers; the inner and outer rings are two half rings.

• Split double-row cylindrical roller bearing: The two half-outer rings installed in the bearing seat are combined, and some key connections can also be used to prevent rotation. An angle is formed between the split inner ring section and the bearing centerline to ensure smooth rotation, connected by a clamp. The split brass cage is positioned by rollers. The axial clearance should accommodate the thermal expansion of the universal joint in the axial direction.

• Split cylindrical roller bearing is mainly used in cold-rolled steel crankshafts, cooling drive rolls of continuous casting machines, driving spindles of rolling mills, conveyors, stackers and reclaimers, excavators, and large ventilation equipment.
