Cylindrical roller bearings

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are designed with four rows of cylindrical rollers. Four-row cylindrical roller bearings can bear very heavy radial loads but cannot bear axial loads, making them ideal for high-speed rotation. Since four-row cylindrical roller bearings can only carry radial loads, they are usually installed with angular contact ball bearing, deep groove ball bearings, or tapered roller bearings (radial or thrust bearings) that carry axial loads.

• The bearing bears the maximum rated dynamic load within a limited range.

• Can be used in high-speed working conditions.

• This kind of bearing has higher precision.

• The inner and outer components (outer ring, complete set of rollers) are interchangeable, facilitating quick roll change.

• This kind of bearing can only bear radial load.

Structural types of four-row cylindrical roller bearings

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are usually on the roll neck with an interference fit. If a four-row cylindrical roller bearing is mounted on the shaft or roll neck with a clearance fit (for example, to enable quick roll changes), a four-row cylindrical roller bearing can be provided. One or more additional features (designing lubricating oil grooves or oil holes in the outer or inner ring of the bearing) to compensate for the shortcomings of clearance fit. Spiral grooves in the bore and lubrication grooves in the sides of the bearing ring provide effective lubrication of the sliding contact surfaces.

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are generally divided into three types according to their design structures:

FC type: This bearing structure consists of one inner ring, two outer rings, four rows of rolling elements, and two cages. The outer ring has a fixed guide rib.

FCD type: This bearing structure comprises two inner rings, two outer rings, four rows of rolling elements, and two cages. The outer ring has fixed guide ribs.

FCDP type: This bearing structure consists of two inner rings, two outer rings, four rows of rolling elements, one middle retaining ring, two side retaining rings, and four cages.

The inner hole can be designed as a cylindrical hole or a tapered hole. The tapered hole bearing can be adjusted during installation to provide a certain radial internal clearance and a specified preload force.

There is also a sealed structure. In the sealed bearings, the rollers are protected against pollution, dust, and water, retaining the lubricant while eliminating pollution. This results in lower friction and longer life.

Application of four-row cylindrical roller bearings

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are almost entirely used in the roll necks of roll housing, calendars, and roller presses. Since these bearings are usually installed on the roll neck with an interference fit, a four-row cylindrical roller bearing is particularly suitable for rolling mill applications with high rolling speeds.
